Within our Numeracy sessions we use Rote Learning methods to assist students in memorising the basics of mathematics. We do this using ‘Mental Case’, a Mac learning program and app that allows us to review concepts that have already been taught, therefore assisting our students to move this information from their short term, to long term memories.
Students are grouped within these sessions according to their abilities in the concepts being taught that day. This may mean that younger students are working with older students and vice versa.
Students partake in guided sessions with teachers, play mathematical games that help them to develop or refine skills, problem solving, use technology such as computers, iPads and LEAP motion.
